Teaching as an introvert

I just recently gained enough courage to teach yoga publicly.

Who will show up? How many yogis will come to class? Will they walk out mid class? Will they come back next week?

These are all the questions that come up in my mind when I drive to the studio Saturday afternoon.

I recently shared with a coworker at my full time job that I had complete YTT in 2016 and was finally teaching. Her reaction was something along the lines of… “It took you 2 years!”

At first I felt judged, but my response to her was “I’m an introvert and it took time for me to believe in myself first.” When I signed up for YTT it was to deepen my practice and when I found joy in creating flows I hoped to teach one day. Auditioning to a few studios early on after graduating from teacher training was difficult. Rejection isn’t easy to swallow and not take personally.

As a student, teacher, and human please be aware of how quickly you judge.

I tell my students to try different teachers because we all offer something different and vibe best with only a few.

I still have so much to learn in finding my voice and style of teaching. This will take time but I’m excited and motivated to take on this new adventure.

2018 was a year of letting go and growth.

Prioritizing myself in order to not sacrifice the work and strength I’ve built to become

who I am has been worth it.

I’m worth it!       You’re worth it!

Thank you so much for visiting me here!

Great gift ideas for a friend starting their YTT journey

So many Yoga Teacher Trainings begin in the summer all over the world!

YTT is a special moment for so many yogi practitioners ready to deepen their practice and/or start their teaching journey.

If you know someone starting their journey and need gift ideas? This is for you!

Journals – They’re going to need a place to jot down and journal their thoughts.

Towels – Mat/Hand/Face towels for the newly, extra active and sweaty student.

Yoga Props – Blocks, strap, mediation cushion, etc.  Whether they’re a new or experienced practitioner props are essential in building a smarter practice with proper alignment.

Clothes – Leggings, tops, harem pants or sweats. Along with a sweaty mat practice, they’ll be studying and sitting for hours so comfortable clothing is essential.

Self care items – Massage gift cards, bath bombs, and essential oils are great ideas to keep them well balanced. Awareness mind/body/soul is pretty important in yoga ; )

Large Bag -Besides a place to store all of their new goodies, this yogi is going to need a backpack to carry their belongings or maybe a yoga bag to carry they’re favorite mat.

Have fun shopping for your future yoga teacher! 🙂 Namaste

I’ve always believed but something was missing.

Then finally, I felt it. That moment when everything all makes sense.

When faith is truly present. You light up from within and tears roll down your cheeks.

The joy and support that has filled my world since then can not be explained.
To fully trust has never been easy and it’s never too late to makes sense of your journey.

“In religion, we call it spirits.
In science, we call it energy.

In the streets, we call it vibes.
All I’m saying is trust it.”

Sraddha. Namaste.
